COMMUNITY ORGANIZING
Corazón Community Services’ Community Organizing Programs focus on fostering civic engagement, personal development, and community connection through two core initiatives: Civic Heart and Project: Self. Civic Heart provides a welcoming space for the Cicero community to engage in guided conversations around civic themes, using art, music, poetry, speeches, and interactive activities to inspire reflection and unity. Each gathering centers on a selected theme, with community members invited to contribute creative materials that support thoughtful dialogue and collective growth. These events aim to strengthen community bonds and encourage constructive conversations, especially in times of conflict. Project: Self is a court-mandated community service program for adults 18 and older that reimagines traditional service requirements by focusing on personal growth and education. Through a flexible curriculum, participants explore key social issues impacting their communities, gaining tools for self-improvement and positive engagement. This rolling program empowers individuals to fulfill their service obligations in a meaningful and restorative way.
