Nancy has been in the non-profit organization world for more than six years, starting her journey at Catholic Charities as a volunteer in the Family Strengthening Center in Berwyn. In this role, she helped stimulate the minds of school-age youth with educational activities, assisted directors with adult programs like beginner English and beginner computer courses, and promoted services to the Berwyn community. She later started her role as a Youth Advocate at Corazón Community Services in 2017, working from Unity Junior High for the Teen REACH after-school program. Later on, she was promoted to Senior Youth Advocate and Manager, Youth Outreach and Engagement in support of all youth programs both at Unity Junior High and Fuerza Youth Center.
Nancy comes from an educational background, having earned of a bachelor’s degree of liberal arts in sociology with a concentration in social services and a minor in Spanish studies from Dominican University in River Forest, IL. Dominican carefully prepared Nancy to go into society to create a more just and humane world through compassionate service.
Nancy loves watching films of all genres during her downtime and trying new local restaurants.
