Community Building: Working Together to Help Cicero Thrive.

From local nonprofits to government officials, health care organizations to the Mexican consulate, Corazón Community Services relies on the collaboration of numerous partners to make Cicero healthier, safer, and more vibrant.

Each of our partners has a pivotal role to play in our success, contributing their skills, experience, and resources to our shared goal of strengthening our community and responding to its diverse needs.

Cicero Community Collaborative:

Corazón Community Services is a core partner of the Cicero Community Collaborative, a coalition of local nonprofit organizations that provide youth services in Cicero and neighboring municipalities. Formerly known as the Cicero Youth Task Force, it attracted more than $30,000,000 of public and private funds to tackle some of Cicero’s greatest challenges.

The CCC coordinates its work through five constituent committees: Early Childhood, Elementary and Middle School, High School, Welcoming, and Health and Safety, for which Corazon currently serves as co-chair. The CCC also convenes two workgroups, one focusing on anti-racism, and one on local responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. The CCC serves as a hub for resources, hosts community events, and fosters partnerships between a variety of stakeholders.

Public Support:

Corazón fulfills its commitments to the community by partnering with government and other public entities, including the school boards for Districts 99, 100, and 201, the Town of Cicero, the Cook County Board of Commissioners, our state representative, our member of Congress, and state agencies.

We are very grateful for their support in helping us strengthen our community and help it to thrive through public funding, technical assistance, and formal linkage agreements.

Social Service and Healthcare Partnerships:

Communities of color are often underserved in a variety of sectors, including health care, housing, education, and employment, among many others.

To respond to these needs, Corazón enjoys collaborative partnerships with a variety of social service agencies and health care organizations that serve as referral sites and linkages to care to ensure that the people we serve are connected to available resources.

Community Events:

Corazón has a long history of bringing the community together in moments of both hardship and happiness, from gang violence and the COVID-19 pandemic to neighborhood clean-ups, garage sales, and health fairs.

We take pride in being a key feature of Cicero’s landscape and contributing to our shared life as community leaders and good neighbors.
