Youth Mentor

Angelo has been a child and youth development specialist since 1996. Angelo engages youth in meditation and self-defense courses free of charge. He’s taught and played in softball, chess, and art tournaments throughout his career. For thirty-four years, he’s trained individuals in boxing and martial arts. Angelo holds four black belts, 4th Degree is the highest level in three different styles of karate: combat-do, jiujitsu, boxing, kickboxing and weight lifting.

Angelo instills honor, respect, responsibility, and virtues in the high-risk youth that he serves at the agency. He believes this is truly his calling, especially prevention, intervention, and gang-related issues. In the past, Angelo served as a Lincoln Challenge Academy Mentor. In that position, he was able to act as a role model, advisor, friend, and positive example to the cadets. Currently, Angelo serves as the Senior Youth Advocate at Corazon continuing to be a positive role-model to high-risk youth. He deeply believes the youth are our future, so we must teach them to adapt, endure, and overcome all obstacles in life.
